或許是因為自春訓以來就被大批媒體追問退休相關的話題，小熊老將John Lackey(雷奇)今天終於公開表態，「自己明年投的機率比不投的機率要大」，言下之意仍不想就此退休。
Lackey表示從春訓以來大概已經被10幾家媒體問過同樣的事了，自己目前對身體的狀態感到滿意，仍想繼續在場上奮戰，應該會再投個一年。
巨投等級的Lackey，生涯主投2669又2/3局，拿下176勝，送出2145次三振，防禦率3.88，曾在2007年奪下美聯防禦率王，近年狀況也保持得不錯，連4季都吃下超過180局、防禦率皆在4以下，去年還寫下以生涯2500局創下面對大聯盟30隊皆有勝投之紀錄。
不過Lackey和小熊的合約，即將在今年球季結束後到期，屆時將滿39歲的他，能否再吸引到球隊的追求，就要看他本季表現如何了。
「魔球」軍團奧克蘭運動家隊終於在季末出手補強，以600萬美元一年約簽下外野手Rajai Davis（戴維斯），他去年幫印地安人隊打進世界大賽。
Rajai Davis36歲，但他去年盜壘43次，位居美聯盜壘王寶座，而他也繳出打擊率2成49，出賽134場。
運動家隊很希望他未來鎮守中外野大關，而這也將會是他第二次回到運動家隊，2008年他曾轉戰運動家，後來2010年前往藍鳥隊發展。
